1800's Furniture Casters

1800's Furniture Casters

Refurbished set of four cast iron casters with a luscious old patina. Hardwood wheels to be kind to your flooring. By M. B. Schenck & Company of Meriden, Connecticut with patent date of April 17, 1888. I believe these to be unused new old stock due to no signs of wear to the wheel and pristine condition.

2” overall height. 1 5/8” x 2 1/8" mounting plates.

Cleaned with power wire brushes, then hand washed, leaving a luscious aged patina. Wood conditioner applied to wheels. Moving parts lubricated. Ready to turn up the drama on your project!

Interestingly, Mr. Schenck was a supporter of presidential candidate Lincoln. He served for the duration of the Civil War, and voted for Lincoln a second time by sending his ballot home from the war. He started his caster company shortly after returning home. Thank you for your service, Mr. Schenck!
