DIY Lineberry Factory Cart Coffee Table

Wow! Get inspired by this fabulous Lineberry factory cart coffee table creation!….all the way in Ukraine! 

Kiev interior designer Iryna Volkova contacted Iron Anarchy for the antique iron hardware to create a replica of the iconic Lineberry cart for a client’s home. I sought out the wheels, axle brackets, end casters and corner stake brackets.

Iryna’s team constructed the cart of lumber salvaged from a 100-year-old mill 300 miles outside Kiev and fabricated the iron nail accents.

I recently uncovered a stash of wonderful old iron gears- these with a luscious old patina of worn red paint. I handcrafted wooden display stands for them to sit in to make a perfect display for a tabletop or shelf.

Excited to have acquired a stash of wonderful antique and vintage foundry gear patterns that would make for great industrial wall art installations! See my offerings here.

Foundry patterns like these are one-of-a-kind wooden models from which molds would be made for then casting in iron for machinery. Since only one such model would be needed to make several iron duplicates and then discarded when they were no longer needed, they are much more rare than their iron offspring.

Their dynamic industrial style and worn patina makes them very decorative, and their lightweight nature makes them perfect for safe and easy wall mounting.

Several are from the Chain Belt Company of Milwaukee, WI that revolutionized industry in the late 1800s with the concept of replacing leather belts with their Rex chain belts for driving machinery, Schlitz Brewing Company being one of their first clients.

Ranging from 17" to 32" diameter, you're sure to find the perfect one for your project.

Industrial Gears from Iron Anarchy on the Disney Channel's Liv And Maddie show.

A few months ago, Iron Anarchy was contacted by Lisa, a Hollywood producer of the Disney Channel's "Liv And Maddie" sitcom. She needed some large iron gears to create a clock tower set for the show. I located several large gears for her and delivered them to the stage at Sunset Gower Studios, my old stomping grounds when I used to work

in the LA film and television industry.

The gears have a dramatic presence in the dark and moody steampunk style set where they appear as the clockworks of a massive urban clock tower, the lair of an evil villain in the "Cowbell-A-Rooney" episode which aired in October 2015.

I truly was thrilled to work with Lisa on this project, being able to source the materials she needed to bring a director's vision to life. I'm passionate about finding this old rusty iron and getting it into the hands of those who also love it enough to give it new life.

 What a find! Super rare pair of MASSIVE cast iron wheels in an ornate spoke design.

From the late 1800s by J. T. Towsley of Cincinnati, Ohio for their #27 cart. Made using the sand casting technique where sand is compacted around a wooden model to form the mold which is then cast in iron, destroying the mold upon removal of the wheel.

I believe these to be unused new old stock; I scrubbed off a thick layer of rust, but no signs of wear and remnants of the original black painted finish. You will not come across anything like these again.

I get alot of requests for casters with brakes for use on kitchen islands, tables and bars. Unfortunately,  brakes are a more recent feature and weren't available on antique casters. So am happy to offer this set of ultra-cool vintage factory cart swivel casters with locks. New old stock with a rusty finish, cleaned to remove loose rust, but leaving just enough for that dramatic look we love! Each has a brake lever to keep your piece where you want it. Pristine black rubber wheels to be kind to your hardwood or tile floors.

Iron Anarchy recently recieved a request from a client in Texas to create an installation of industrial gears and wheels for a 4’ x 7’ space in his home. Attached is a proposed layout featuring a large central wooden gear flanked by two metal wheels with worn paint, and then assorted metal gears and wheels. An old industrial chain “ties" the elements together, while creating a strong vertical accent which moves the eye up and down the wall.
