 What a find! Super rare pair of MASSIVE cast iron wheels in an ornate spoke design.

From the late 1800s by J. T. Towsley of Cincinnati, Ohio for their #27 cart. Made using the sand casting technique where sand is compacted around a wooden model to form the mold which is then cast in iron, destroying the mold upon removal of the wheel.

I believe these to be unused new old stock; I scrubbed off a thick layer of rust, but no signs of wear and remnants of the original black painted finish. You will not come across anything like these again.

Custom Saloon Door Using 6" Barn Door Corner Brackets

Am excited to be offering a great assortment of antique hand forged hardware that's perfect for adding that authentic touch to your sliding barn door.

Completely handcrafted from scratch by a blacksmith- you can see that the "L" shape was created by two straps and all surfaces and edges were hand hammered. Very aged crusty/rusty patina. Strong and sturdy. Acquired from an elderly cabinetmaker in Santa Fe, NM who got them down in Mexico in the 1940s.

The wrought iron corner brackets are available in 4", 5" and 6" sizes, as well as straight 8" straps for additional accents. Please see my listing here.

Completely handcrafted from scratch by a blacksmith- you can see that the "L" shape was created by two straps and all surfaces and edges were hand hammered. Very aged crusty/rusty patina. Vintage pair of MASSIVE, heavy duty industrial rigid casters. High quality construction by the Thomas Truck & Caster Company of Keokuk, Iowa. They feature huge 6" diameter wheels of thick cast iron. Love the raised text cast into the wheel via metal tags on the model from which the mold was made. The thick steel housing has luscious layers of old worn paint.

Early 20th century set of massive, extra-heavy duty casters of very thick cast iron by Bond. Two lock-position casters and two swivel casters.

Each has a 4.5" overall height. Wheels are 3” diameter. The two swivel casters have a 1.5" face with a 5.5" x 4” mounting plate. The two locked casters have a 2" face with a 4.5” square mounting plate.
