ANTIQUE FACTORY CART CASTER SET
Antique set of extra large, extra heavy duty industrial cart swivel casters. Double raceways of ball bearings to address both horizontal and vertical stresses. Thick cast iron with remnants of old red paint. Circa 1930s.
• 7 1/4 inches overall height
• 5 inch diameter, 2 inch wide wheels
• 5 1/2 inch x 7 inch mounting plates
• Each caster weighs over 15 lbs.
Fair operational condition. All bearings were “frozen” from thick rust when acquired, but I was able to get all moving again, but bearing are very pitted and worn; probably not best for heavy utilitarian use, but if using more for their cosmetic use, they should perform fine. Wheels spin nicely.
Partially cleaned- soaked in degreaser, then power washed to remove most of the thick grime and loose rust, but not disturb patina too much, so still may need additional cleaning per your needs and aesthetics.
Please note that these appear to have been welded to a cart at one time, and their removal did eat up some of the iron around the edges of the mounting plates, not causing any structural or operational issues, but just want to make you aware of cosmetic issue.
